Joke

The boss of a big company who needed to call one of his employees about anurgent problem with one of the main computers, dialed the employee's homephone number and was greeted with a child's whisper,
"Hello." "Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?"
The child whispered, "No."
Surprised, and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is yourmommy? there?"
"Yes."
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the bossasked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked,"May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman", came the whispered answer.
Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the earpiece on the phone the boss asked, "What is thatnoise?"
"A hello-copper" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" asked the boss, now alarmed.
In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team justlanded the hello-copper."
Alarmed, concerned, and even more then just a little frustrated the bossasked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle:
"Me!"

Eeeeeastsssssiiiiiide

The story so far..

We arrived in Cairns and chilled there for a few days, during which we dived in the Great Barrier Reef (nice - but not as good as Koh Tao, although we did see a Cuttlefish and they change colour whcih is crazy on the eyes!)

Had a fun but heavy night out (inc. a Wet t-shirt competition - which quickly became a no t-shirt competition! Winner! And sorry, but this time no photos.) before leaving Cairns and we are now on a two week custom package with sailing and 4WD thrown in whilst making our way down to Surfer's Paradise (just South of Brisbane.) By then it'll be the 24th and I have to exit Oz by the 9th March.. Which leaves 2 weeks to do Sydney and Melbourne (Pronounced: "Melbun", else you sound like t**t apparently)

Have met loads of peeps over this side - it's far more urbanised on the East coast and it seems this is where everyone hangs out. It's also very expensive because unless you are spending a million dollars on doing some activity, there's very little else to do but drink! I never thought I'd say it but I miss having a job. I'm sure there are many people who would glady remind me how long it takes before being employed starts to rot though.. ;)

Uluru/Ayer's Rock

We have escaped Perth! It was a sad day, but traveling is just that, so we said our goodbyes and headed off to Perth airport for a bumpy flight to Alice Springs (right in the middle of the Oz).

Activities of late include socialising, mainly. There isn't much to do else in Perth. Mike and I reveled in a petrolhead ubermacho drag racing weekend last week and since then I have done v little.

Ayer's rock (or Uluru as it is now known, since it was handed back to the aborigines) is a big rock in the middle of pretty much nowhere. We have stopped halfway between the East and West coasts just to see it. We then drove 1100kms to get to and from it, and stayed just one night. A lot of effort for a big stone, but it is rather symbolic of Oz according to many! There are a lot of other travelers here doing the same thing. It was quite pretty this morning anyway. And there's a 200k stretch of unlimited highway so anyone who knows me will understand that I was a happy camper (haha!... sorry).

Of all events in this particular middle of nowhere, we have a Ministry of Sound night tonight, our first Friday out since I can remember. (Today I bought some anti-hangover Lynx too, so I can safely party with no fear!)

And then tomorrow we fly to Cairns to start the East coast adventure! Moving down to Melbourne 'til I leave Oz on 9th March.

As you can tell this entry is a bit of a gap filler. Plus, it's hard to write about many things I cannot actually remember... *belch*

More interesting are prolly the photos (esp. for the blokes - sorry Bing I know what I said! ;) so go check them.

Bye bye
