Notes on chopstick: Intimate stories from Tokyo and Me
- Everyone is so pleasant!
- The air is very dry here. I am constantly drinking water.
- There is an extractor fan *in* my toilet. It also has a heated seat, electronic bidet and a swirl action flush. The fan speeds up as you get off, I suppose to reduce risk of injury during the earlier sitting phase (Think dog jowls in a speeding cabriolet).
- People in suits are always (nearly always) very smart and have good knots in their ties.
- They drive on the left! Correct
- Speaking of driving - There is a Nissan car model named 'Cedric'.
- Many signs are in English as well as Japanese. Some signs are only in English.
- I can eat cabbage for breakfast. It compliments the yoghurt they also serve in the morning, very well.
- The buildings are cool. One looks like one of those fortress gate shaped monster robots from the movie Tron.
- I speculate: Because it's not tradition, handshakes here are limp and correspondingly uncomfortable.
- I am tall!
- Blogspot has turned all Japanese on me and I don't know which button to press next.
